Ricky had just bought a fruity smoothie before decided to head to the town Concert Hall. His first time there was when he first took part in the Battle of the Bands. Lucky for him, his band group got the top prize, being the Champions for Battle of the Bands. He had not receive any new if there will be any competition this year.
However, Ricky sure was looking forward to. He sipped onto his smoothie while looking around. It seemed someone was on the stage, practicing. As people hardly comes here till at night, this place could consider deserted during earlier hours. Ricky slurped on his smoothie before walking up to the seats. "Man...You got to be kidding me...This standard...Boy...This got to be joking..."
Ricky looked around and noticed no one at all. He took his phone out while getting himself a seat. He slouched while slurping on his drink, taking a video of how the person was practicing. It would make such a great deal of laugh if he show his band-mates.

Veronica was in Toad Tavern early that day. Her boss called telling her to stop by a few hours before her shift. She headed to his office and was informed by the boss to go to the Concert Hall. He asked Veronica to check the place and see where they could place the drinks and tend. She agreed not having any choice, plus it would give her some extra money in her pocket.
Veronica got in her car and drove off to the Concert Hall. It was empty like usual and expected. No one came unless for practice or during the Battle of the Bands. She stepped in and suddenly heard someone on stage. Veronica closed her ears a bit not standing the music. No words could describe how that person playing.
The woman walked forward looking around to see where the drink should be placed. The competition wasn't that far or even soon. So, she had time to organize everything. She was surprised that her boss even asked her to do this. Not long after, Veronica noticed someone sitting on one of the seats below. Approaching it she saw the man holding his phone and obviously was recording the guy's practice on stage.
She instantly knew who it was and smiled. Glancing one more time at the 'musician' on stage, Veronica sat down next to her friend. "Ricky?! What are you doing here?" She was somewhat surprised and curious as though why he was there.

Ricky was snickering away when he recording the person practicing. It was horrible, the worst, alright not the worst, but nearly to the worst type. Ricky realised some footsteps and before he knew, there was a shadow hovering on him. As he turned to look who that was, the person sat beside him and spoke to him. Ah, it was his owner and colleague.
He stopped the recording and turned to look at her while speaking to her. "Well, I was thinking if I should hang around here for a moment. I mean, I can't wait for the coming Battle of the Bands and if that person went there, it'll be a total fluke!" Ricky mentioned while pointing at the person since the person was not even paying much attention to anything.
He stopped laughing and looked back at her. "So, what sup? Where are you here? Wait...Is it up to pay the rent already?!" Ricky frowned while looking up, trying to recall when was the last moment he paid his rent, at the same time, pouting a little. He snapped out of it and looked back at her when she spoke.

Veronica stared at the guy on stage while he talked. Judging by the way he was playing it would be sad and humiliating if he actually entered the competition. "Yeah true, I'll fee sorry for him if he played in front of everyone." She said shaking her heard then turned to look at Ricky. "Wait...are you considering in entering again this year?" Last year the band one first place and Veronica thinks they should let some other band win.
His band would go far, but needed to find the right manager. Veronica laughed when he asked if it was time to pay the rent. She could care less if Ricky payed a bit late. Though sometimes paying on time is necessary to cover the bills. "No, not yet. Even if it was how would I know you were here? I would've just waited till you got back home."
She glanced around before responding "The boss called saying that I should check out this place and see where we could place the drinks. He put in charge of it and organize everything...Remember like last year? Though this time I'm responsible for everything." Veronica was grinning. She liked being in charge and hoped her boss would give her other jobs like this soon.

Ricky blinked a little when she spoke feeling sorry for the person above. He figured, if they had to be good, they should not give up if someone just pulled them down or did not support them. Instead, they should keep working forward. He turned to look at her and spoke. "Yeah, I have to. We have to play to see who could beat us. Did you not informed about it? Wait...when exactly is BotB?"
Ricky leaned closer to her as he had no idea about the date selections yet. He scratched the side of his cheek before thinking. "Yeah, you're capable of that...boss should really give you that chance...I'm sorry for screwing up back then...nearly got you fired..." Ricky dipped his head slightly before smiling once again.
"Hey about a dinner treat? Besides, we could have dinner together. It's been a while...I mean early dinner seeing we both have to work later..." Ricky rubbed the back of his neck while thinking about it. He wanted to have a day off but he did not want it to be last minute as his pals might already waiting for him or on their way.

He had a point, they had to play to see who could beat them. It would be a surprise if someone managed to do that. His band became pretty much known playing in the bar almost every night and winning the Battle of the Bands prize was a boost to their popularity. Veronica shook her head then tried to recall when was the competition. "Damn it! I forgot. I'll ask the boss when we head back to the pub."
She noticed that the awful music had stopped and that the person was gathering his stuff. She sighed relieved her ears not handling it. "I'm still trying to forget that happened, thanks for bringing it up." Veronica rolled her eyes and remembering when she poured all of the good drinks while placing them on the tables. "Just don't pull something like that again...This time I would really get fired!"
Dinner sounded good at the moment. Her shift wouldn't start in an hour or two and she had to work all night. "Sure, dinner sounds good." Veronica smiled and noticed the guy passing them. She gave him a thumbs up saying "Hey! you were doing well up there." She waited till he left to laugh.

Ricky felt a sudden pang of hunger. He sighed as reminding himself of the bad meal he had earlier. He felt like puking but decided it was his own fault wanted to give it a try. He snapped out of it when Veronica praised the guy. When she laughed, he laughed along as well, it was basically hilarious. He controlled it and calmed himself before looking at her. "Hey, you choose the meal and I pay. Seriously, I did not know that boss could be so...lady..."
Ricky laughed mentioned that the boss is fickle minded and weird temper, like having menopause. Ricky got up from the seat and checked his phone before slotting it back into his pocket. He looked around before giving himself a good stretched. "So, where to?" Ricky wondered what she might want to have for dinner. He tilted his head slightly while still waiting for her respond.

Her laughter died slowly and she calmed down. Veronica couldn't wait to see the guy at the competition and how it would turn out. She snapped out of it when he spoke and rolled her eyes. She hated when people paid for her, especially if it was someone close to her. "No you're not paying, you know how I feel when people pay for me. Though I'd be glad to choose the meal." She smirked before getting up.
Veronica chuckled lightly before slapping his shoulder playfully. "Well that...lady hired you and your band so stop it." She walked away from her seat motioning him to join her. On her way outside, Veronica thought of what mood was she in. She had Mexican a few days ago along with Chinese. Though there was one kind of meal she didn't have for a while.
"Hmm...how about Italian? I'm in the mood for some pasta!" She said feeling hungry once stating her favorite food. She got her car keys from her purse and turned to Ricky. "So, know any good Italian restaurants? By the way, did you come with your car or walked here?"

Ricky shrugged a little when she slapped his shoulder playfully. He figured that he could live with trying not to talk much bad stuff about their boss. "I guess I could...on the account he hired me...But he could be less bossy..." Ricky walked with her till she asked if he had his car, sadly, he did not. "No I don't...sadly...My mates took the car for delivery...purpose."
Ricky shrugged before continued walking off with her. "Italian? Sounds good. Well, I'm up for anything basically." Ricky laughed for a moment before slotting his hands into the pockets while looking at the scenery. "So, you...I mean our pub will be sponsoring for the Battle of the Bands this year? That's so cool...Hey, so...would I and my mates get a free drink on the house?" Ricky wondered if that would even be possible.
